Oneida County's Nov. 3 Ballot Has Two Sheets: Turn In Both

Why it matters here

If you hand in only one sheet, only the races on that sheet are counted, and town and judicial contests sit on the second one.

Voters across Oneida County will get a ballot printed on two separate sheets for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election, according to the Oneida County Board of Elections. The board says the split is because of the number of contests this year.

Per WKTV's report, state and county races are on the first sheet and town and judicial races on the second. Commissioners told WKTV that only the contests on sheets actually turned in get counted.

What to do:

  • Make sure you have both sheets, and check both sides of each.
  • Voting in person: feed both sheets into the machine.
  • Voting by mail: put both completed sheets in the return envelope.
  • Not sure? Ask a poll worker or call the Board of Elections.

Preview your ballot on the board's sample ballot page after finding your election district with the state voter lookup. The Utica Phoenix also covered the change.
