Dunham Public Library 100th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting in Whitesboro, Oct. 28
First look at the library's new second-floor addition, on the exact day it turns 100.
Dunham Public Library marks 100 years with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the library, 76 Main Street in Whitesboro; the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce lists it as 2 to 3 p.m. An admission price wasn't published, and the community is invited, per the Utica Phoenix.
What's happening: the ceremony also opens the library's newly built second-floor addition, and guests can walk through it. The Chamber's listing says refreshments and light food will be served.
Why Oct. 28: the library was chartered on Oct. 28, 1926, and first opened to readers on Aug. 8, 1927. It was rechartered in 1937 to serve the Whitesboro school district. It sits in the former home of the Rev. Moses Dunham; his son, George Earl Dunham, left the property and money to start the library.
Questions: Grace Monaco at the Greater Utica Chamber, 315-724-3151 ext. 230. The library also posts updates on its Facebook page.
